Over the past week, we’ve been blessed with a variety of new donations and opportunities to gather essential mobility and medical equipment for Ukraine. From local auctions to generous shop donations and individual gifts, each contribution is compassion in action.
Bangor Auctions
One of my regular stops is Bangor Auctions, which often features mobility aids and Tena pads at excellent prices which is perfect for supplementing our donated stock.
This week, I was pleasantly surprised to spot a professional-grade stretcher among the listings. After a couple of quick bids, it was ours for the grand total of £12!

A bit of cleaning later, and it’s ready to be loaded onto our next medical aid container bound for Ukraine. It’s amazing to think that something rescued from a local auction will soon serve a vital, life saving role in Ukraine.
ReStore Lisburn
A big thank you goes to the team at ReStore Lisburn, who kindly donated their surplus mobility aids to us.
You might not think much of a walking frame or raised toilet seat when they’re easily available here, but in frontline areas of Ukraine, such simple items can transform daily life. They help elderly or injured people move more safely, preserve dignity, and make caring for others just a little easier.
Individual Collection
I also try to keep space in the schedule for smaller, one-off collections, which can be just as meaningful.
Today, I was delighted to collect a nearly new shower seat from an individual in East Belfast. These kinds of living aids are pretty much unavailable in Ukraine, yet they make a world of difference in helping carers look after loved ones safely and with less strain.

Every auction, every donation, every collection, big or small, is a result of turning burden into action. Thank you to everyone who continues to give, share, and support this work. Together, we’re helping bring comfort, care, and hope to those who need it most.
